holidays Chiemsee

In August I made at the Chiemsee vacation. After 32 years the first time - man, that's all become small as ...

I was particularly impressed by the woman island with its Benedictine monastery Frauenwörth - a settlement from the Carolingian period.

A pilgrimage to Altötting was mandatory - and very beautiful. The "Holy Chapel" is originally the baptistery of the Imperial Palace.

In Altoetting is the commander John Tserclaes Reichsgraf buried by Tilly, a famous fighter for the Catholic side during the 30 Years War. Here you can see him - or what's left of him sterblicherseits:

in the treasure chamber in Pope Benedict house including lots of votive offerings are made out to the Blessed Mother. The highlight is the Golden Horse Inn - all of gold - the colored surfaces are enameled. Gold melts rather than enamel - no one knows how this is done. Is not it wonderful?

Then I went to Salzburg , the seat of the Primate Germaniae. From the atmosphere, which radiates its baroque cathedral, Il Gesù in Rome downright homely. (! Why no pictures)

For me the best is the Franciscan church - Romanesque nave and a Gothic hall choir - incredible effect that is not banish really pictures, but still:

on the small sanctuary Maria Rast Langenbach in Munich, I became aware of a prospectus. The recently renovated Church is absolutely worth seeing:

On the feast of the Holy Apostle Bartholomew went I for Königssee to cross over at the Feast of St. Bartholomew to . Adorable were three elderly nuns who had the same idea as me. On board, they said initially the Stewart, who skillfully made his usual tourist program, including the best trumpet with echo, which Feast we have today, and then in the church to perhaps three years of Luke in the face of the altarpiece, how much it hurts, as the apostle to be skinned and what were bad for the people ...

Wasserburg am Inn , surrounded on three sides by river, is a city with well preserved medieval and early modern building stock.

The parish church of St. James not least worth seeing for its orange vault.

Enchanting I found the Shrine of Our Lady , a Gothic church, the Baroque style was very convincing - and who knows me, knows what it means when I write the Gothic ... There I spent a long time and was able to pray well.

drove on the way back I Regensburg. Until 1803 it was the ancient Roman city for centuries the seat of the Permanent Imperial Diet - much like the capital of the Holy Roman Empire.

first, I was able in the Old Chapel where I celebrate Mass and hear this the recently dedicated "Pope Benedict Organ. A Romanesque church with Gothic choir, rich in baroque style. By the way, is there one (of many) of Evangelists Luke painted (s) Marie icons.

main goal was of course the Cathedral of St. Peter (The Apostle Prince is on Trumeaupfeiler as pope, without a key, but with Tiara shown). It is probably the "most French" of the Gothic cathedrals in Germany - apart from the missing choir chapels. (Unfortunately it is very dark inside, making it hard to photograph.)
